Worked example: area of a rectangle

Given Length l = 8 cm, Width w = 5 cm, substitute the values into each rectangle formula:

  • A = 8 × 5 = 40 cm²
  • P = 2(8 + 5) = 26 cm
  • d = √(8² + 5²) = 9.43 cm
